Rob Thomas Solo career
When many people think of Rob Thomas, they think of his ten years as the lead singer of Matchbox Twenty. Thomas and the group saw tremendous success over that decade, but there was much more in store for Thomas when he broke off and started a solo career. The new Rob Thomas CD is causing more people to step up and take notice of Thomas as a solo act, and his career has become even more distinguished with some of the hits he's put out.
Rob Thomas began his solo career in April of 2005, and since then he has made his way by teaming up with some of the most recognizable names in the music industry. He didn't take long making his name in the solo world, with his first album, "Something to Be" shot to the top of the charts almost immediately. That move was a first in music, as no other artist saw that position with a debut album.
The success for that album and the new Rob Thomas CD, "Cradlesong", have been enormous and helped along by some of the singles that he's released. The most notable of those was Thomas's "Smooth", in which he teamed up with Carlos Santana. That single was released in 1999, and it acted as a preview for what fans could expect when Thomas actually branched out on his own.
The new Rob Thomas CD also features a single that has climbed to the top of the American charts. "Her Diamonds" is a popular tune that has impressed in the states, and two other singles have been released since the June debut of the album.
With the success of this CD and the other Thomas solo acts, success should continue for this popular artist.
